Creating employment and local business opportunities through the project

The Wimmera Plains Energy Facility will invest in Horsham and neighbouring regions, providing funding, job creation, and long-term benefits to local communities.

Work with us

The Wimmera Plains Energy Facility is expected to generate up to 400 jobs during construction- both on the site and in the wider community. Once operational, there will be around 10 local jobs and other flow-on economic multipliers for the the region.

Local supplier and employment opportunities

The Wimmera Plains Energy Facility will create jobs for local people. It will also deliver opportunities for local businesses.

The project will need a range of skills and suppliers during the construction stage. In the lead-up to construction, BayWa r.e. will work closely with our contractors to ensure that local businesses, including First Nations businesses, are given the opportunity to be involved.

If you are a local business in western Victoria we would like to hear from you. Be it earthworks, fencing, professional services, building contractors, machinery operators, or accommodation, medical, catering, road transport or cleaners – all these skills will be needed during construction.
