BayWa r.e.'s Hughenden Solar Farm in central Queensland generates enough renewable energy to power up to 6,800 homes.

More than 60,000 solar panels over 34 hectares can generate 20 MWp.

Hughenden started operation in 2018 after taking just six months to build.

That challenging timeframe was achieved thanks to the expertise of our project management team, contractors Beon Energy Solutions and the support and foresight of Flinders Shire Council.

It was our first utility-scale renewable energy asset in Australia. Now it's one of seven renewable energy assets developed and constructed by BayWa r.e. in Australia - three solar, four wind.

In 2022, CS Energy extended its first offtake agreement by signing a new eight-year PPA with BayWa r.e.

Hughenden is one of three operational Australian solar farms developed and owned by BayWa r.e. - including the giant sister solar farms of Karadoc and Yatpool.

More than 100 jobs were created during construction.
