BayWa r.e. Apprentice of the Year 2023

to overview

One of the best parts of our job at BayWa r.e. is growing relationships in the communities surrounding our projects.

Our team developing the Bullawah Wind Farm near Hay, NSW, happily returned for a second year as a sponsor of the Hay Business Excellence Awards, part of our ongoing community engagement efforts.

BayWa r.e. sponsor the Apprentice of the Year Award, which aligns with our mission of investing in the future, represented in this case by emerging talent.

We also share a drive in striving for business excellence ourselves with the Bullawah Wind Farm development.

One of the best parts of our job at BayWa r.e. is growing relationships in the communities surrounding our projects. By supporting emerging talent like our 2023 winner Rebecca Woods.

BayWa r.e. Developer James Birkmanis attended the awards gala in Hay and had the honour of presenting the award to Rebecca.

After 21 years in the health industry as a support officer/business analyst for Hay Hospital, Rebecca made a daring career change to regain herself and her creativity as a mature-aged apprentice at Tantrum Hair and Beauty.

“It is never too late to have a career change,” Rebecca said. “Do some research, establish your reasons, plan and make it happen. I have learnt so much about myself, relationships with others, and what is truly important in life since I made the change, and I am so grateful.

“I was so surprised and delighted to have won. I could not do the things that I have been able to do without the support of my loving husband and children. Many thanks to all involved in the Hay Business Excellence Awards, and BayWa r.e. for being so generous with their support.”
