The Nhill Wind Farm is a two-turbine wind farm approximately 19km west of Nhill township in far western Victoria, very close to the South Australian border. The wind farm will have a capacity of 7.2MW and will connect to the existing 22 kV electricity network in the area. The two 3.6 MW turbines will produce the equivalent energy usage of around 4500 households.
The planning application was lodged with the Minister for Planning in September 2017, and is currently being assessed against the Policy and Planning Guidelines for the Development of Wind Energy Facilities in Victoria. In the event that a Planning Permit is issued for the wind farm in the near future, construction is expected to commence in Q3 of 2018.
