The Ferguson Wind Farm is a three-turbine wind farm approximately 12.5 km south of Simpson in south-western Victoria. The wind farm will have a maximum capacity of 10.8 MW and will connect to the existing 22 kV electricity network in the area. The three turbines will produce the equivalent energy usage of around 6,000 households.
The planning application was lodged with the Minister for Planning in October 2016, and was assessed against the Policy and Planning Guidelines for the Development of Wind Energy Facilities in Victoria. Following the assessment by the Department, the Minister issued Planning Permit No PA1600139 on 12 April 2017 to Ferguson Wind Farm Pty Ltd. Work is currently under way to finalise supply and connection contracts and prepare for the construction of the wind farm. For more information visit www.fergusonwindfarm.com.au
